We are making some progress in the restoration of the Silvia Crisitina, a 4.40m dorna built by Ayaso in 1997. This boat was donated by a private individual to our association Mar de Muros in 2014. Since then and until 2019 it has been sailing in the Ría de Muros, until, because of the water it collected, we had to take it ashore. And it was there, out in the open (our association does not have a covered place to work on the boats), and due to a lack of sufficient funding to be able to carry out a complete repair, which took years…; until the Centro de Formación A Aixola, in Marín, agreed to use this single dorna (also registered in the Census of Traditional Boats of Galicia), in its Wood Boat Restoration Course, a collaboration that we greatly appreciate…
We also wish to thank the Concello de Muros who subsidized the purchase of the wood.
